About
Private Northern Lights tours, a small shared-group chase, a daylight coastal tour and airport transfers, all from one town 350 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle.
What we do
We take people out to see the Arctic night: privately, in our own vehicles, with a guide who knows where the sky tends to clear.
Every evening starts with the forecasts. We read the aurora and cloud data through the afternoon and choose the route when the night comes, rather than following a fixed itinerary regardless of the sky. On a private tour the vehicle and the pace are yours; on the shared tour you join a small group, never a busload.
You book directly with us, with no resellers in between, and every request is confirmed by a person. No booking fees are added on top of the prices on this site.
Why Aurora Northways
Nobody can promise the aurora, and we never will. What we can promise is a night spent looking for it properly: in a warm vehicle, with someone who knows where the sky tends to open.
We read the aurora and cloud forecasts through the afternoon, then drive to wherever the sky is open. Sometimes that is twenty minutes away, sometimes two hours.
No coach and no waiting for forty strangers. On a private tour the car is yours for the night, and so is the pace.
Private departures for up to eight guests, or a seat in a small shared group. Never a busload.
A heated vehicle, thermal suits and hot drinks between stops. Cold is what ends most aurora hunts early.
You write to the people who plan your route and drive you, before, during and after the trip.

The people
Aurora Northways is a small local company in Tromsø. The person who answers your message belongs to the team that plans your route and drives you out. There is no agency in between, and no chatbot.
Ask us anything before you book: the forecast, which tour suits your group, what to wear.
